Boarding

Boarding, sometimes called agisting within the industry, makes hands off ownership possible. Boarding is available either on a temporary basis while getting set up, or permanently. This is a great service for someone who would like to enjoy the benefits of owning and breeding alpacas, but may not have the facilities to house an alpaca. We care for all animals in our charge, as if they were our own, providing the optimal environment for their physical and emotional health.

Our immaculate facility designed specifically for alpacas ensures that alpacas left in our care will be safe and comfortable. Holmes Laboratories have tested our water, hay and pastures, which was recommended by Dr. Norm Evans, and our results were excellent:

"North East Alpacas set a very ambitious schedule of testing water, hay and pasture to ensure proper nutritional levels for their alpacas. A wise management decision. The analysis showed excellent levels in all areas, a vital key to ensure good preventative health care."

Gary Horrisberger, Mgr. Holmes Laboratory, Inc.

With our sound nutritional program, excellent veterinary care, customized facilities and constant vigilance, you can rest assured that your investment, your precious alpacas, will be safe and healthy in our care.

Our boarding fee includes locally grown second cut hay, daily alpaca grain as well as free range mineral supplements. Our animals have large plush pastures to graze on, atop the alluvial soil of the Connecticut River Valley.

We encourage owner participation in the care of their animals. Owners are free to visit their animals at any time as well as participate in farm vet visits and routine daily care of their animals. Our hands on philosophy teaches and supports your learning process.
